Coffee forms an important part of the Gentry day and over the last few months we’ve turned to the De’Longhi Dedica to provide our coffee at home. The Dedica is a pump based espresso machine that works with both ground coffee and easy serving espresso (ESE) capsules to create a range of hot beverages, from espresso to cappuccino. And if like us, you want to be in complete control of your coffee creation, then the pump action and steaming wand for frothing milk will certainly give you the feeling that you are indeed a Barista. Aesthetically, the Dedica is everything you need from a coffee machine. Narrower in width than other machines, it is space saving while the metallic and black fusion (available in more colours) will allow it to fit seamlessly onto most kitchen worktops, leading to a compact and sleek look. Taste-wise, the espresso from the Dedica packs a punch. When using ground coffee you can choose between a single or double shot by selecting the relevant filter and whichever you choose the coffee maintains a good taste and aroma.Despite its compact size, the Dedica has a number of nifty features, including a cup warmer on top of the machine, a removable drip tray and a three button control panel that can be used to set the temperature of the coffee. In what is always a saturated market its easy to find yourself spoilt for choice when selecting the coffee machine for you. Retailing between £155 – £200, the Dedica, isn’t the cheapest coffee machine in the market but it is certainly one of the most versatile around, combining performance with sleek aesthetics.
