On what was possibly the wettest day I have ever experienced in London, the Street Gentry team set out with one simple mission, our Italian Job, to find the very best coffee in central London.
new original We kept it simply only ever order one Americano and one Cappuccino so we couldn’t get distracted by the many pleffereers of our other styles available and could build a strong comparisons between each place.

First stop on our adventure was Timber Yard (Seven Dials), recommended by one of the gentry as he works just around the corner. The place has a fantastic atmosphere, with a range of tourists who have gotten lost, to freelancers and the students using the space and enjoying some fantastic coffee whilst learning.
On to the reason we are here and we were really spoilt by just how the coffe is here, and on our first stop. The balances and full of flavour both of our test coffees got a reasuring nod and we even got to try the brownies which are out of this world.

If you can forgive the cliché, H.T. Harris really does feel like a little slice of Italy in the middle of London. With queues out the door a regular sight during the lunchtime rush we were lucky with our timing on a drizzly Saturday morning and had the cafe pretty much to ourselves.
With our ‘Italian Job’ mission in mind it made perfect sense to have a quick continental lunch from an establishment locally renowned for its authentic Italian grub. Of course every Italian worth his salt tops off the morning with a swift, strong espresso, and who are we to argue? When in Rome does as the Romans do!

Sounds classy and is classy. With a dimly lit interior and comfortable seating, Artigiano has the perfect ambience for a daytime coffee date. With a broad range of coffee and freshly made food, they’ll certainly be enough to keep you satisfied.
As the day progress (and the date gets better, hopefully!) you can move on to the hard stuff and sample the bustling range of wines, cocktails and beers on offer.
