If you’re sartorially inclined and haven’t been living under a rock for the last month there is a good chance you’ll have noticed that Mr Porter have collaborated with the producers of Kingsman to produce an exclusive collection containing everything a modern gentleman would require in his wardrobe from fine tailoring to notebooks, slippers and even pyjamas! With an impressive array of British labels included such as Bremont and Drakes the collection certainly ticks all the right boxes when it comes to style and the one of a kind nature of the collaboration means that for the first time you can buy almost every outfit you see worn in the film.

Our Picks

The Kingsman collection covers most the of bases in terms of a supplying a gent with a functional, stylish and timeless wardrobe but due to the quality and craftsmanship that went into the design of the collection the products are certainly not for those on a strict budget. We’ve put these budgetary concerns aside when choosing our picks from the collection and have picked out five items that we believe would work as a solid basis for any gent looking for a more refined collection of clothes.

Brushed Wool Check Blazer

This 100% wool blazer crafted right here in England is the perfect garment to build your wardrobe around. The exquisite beige, red and brown Prince of Wales check is tailor made for the autumn months but the check is still subtle enough for this to be a go to year round option and depending on what you pair with it, the blazer is versatile enough for both formal and casual occasions.

In true Kingsman style we think the blazer would work best with some wool trousers, a sturdy pair of wingtips and a silk pocket square for an extra dash of character.

Waxed-Cotton Field Jacket

By definition outerwear should be hard wearing and dependable, a jacket or coat bought one year should last for many years to come. Depending on where you buy however, this is too often not the case. So it is refreshing to find a jacket clearly built to last at the centre of the Kingsman collection. Made in England from showerproof waxed cotton and featuring robust leather trims this jacket is a sturdy workhorse crafted to serve you for life.

Despite these practical credentials the field jacket doesn’t lack in the style stakes either with an attractive navy and green tartan, cotton lining and the collars and cuffs finished with oiled leather trims. Ideally suited for wearing over your suit during the April showers and with a chunky knit in the autumn.

Chunky-Knit Cashmere Cardigan

Talking of chunky knits this luxurious cashmere cardigan would be the perfect garment for pairing with your jacket or coat for that extra layer of warmth. The attention to detail that is evident throughout the Kingsman collection is particularity noticeable with this cardigan with a plush ribbed knit and handsome leather football buttons.

Great for a more relaxed effortless appearance we could imagine this cardigan going great with some comfy grey wool trousers in the local pub on a Sunday. A English casual classic. Just remember to keep that bottom button unfastened!

Lock & Co Check Wool Flat Cap

What could be more quintessentially English than the flat cap? A timeless gentlemen’s classic that is full of character and style, and what’s more when it comes to keeping off the chill no hat is better suited for the job than the flat cap. Mr Porter turned to London hatters Lock & Co to craft this flat cap for the Kingsman collection and the heritage and quality of the firm is plain to see in the hat’s details.

There is a great navy herringbone version of the hat available in the collection as well but we went with the grey and charcoal check for that little extra touch of sophistication.

Swaine Adeney Brigg Leather Briefcase

‘Essential’ is a phrase that get thrown an awful lot, but a briefcase is surely a wardrobe item thoroughly deserving of the term. The acquisition of your first briefcase is something of a rite of passage for a gent and this refined offering from Swaine Adeney is a cut above the rest. Hand made by a single craftsmen in a Cambridge workshop this leather briefcase would quite naturally become your sartorial pride and joy.

We particularly like the plethora of handy compartments and stationary sections and the polished brass finishes mean that the briefcase is well protected from excessive wear and tear. The beauty of a quality leather product like this however is that it only gets better with age. Now to track down that long lost Aunt with a spare couple of grand to treat his estranged nephew!
