At Street Gentry we are always keen to support young independent British labels and adventure brand ‘Takuro’ (which means the summit of a mountain in Nepal) certainly tick all our boxes in terms of quality, design and message. Specialising in well-made outdoor-apparel that is designed to inspire adventure, Takuro also has a great social cause at its heart. Takuro use some of their profits to help support and evoke change in the lives of vulnerable women in Nepal. With an ethical ethos that is built around design and equality it’s a pleasure to highlight Takuro’s fantastic products, many of which are handmade and manufactured in England.

The strength of the Takuro range in our opinion is the minimalist design and clean simple aesthetic, the materials chosen are also hard wearing and designed for durability making the backpacks in particular an excellent addition for either scaling mountains or simply cycling to work. Our favourite is the Manaslu backback which has a clever roll-up design making it a versatile option for whatever adventure you’re on. The label is currently stocked in a few stores across the UK: O’Dell’s (Shoreditch, London), Minerva (Exeter) and Moonko (Sheffield) but the range is available through the online shop.
