We’ve unearthed another British gem – Jöttnar. Launched in 2013, Jöttnar is an outdoor clothing company, co-founded by two ex Royal Marine Commandos. Unsurprisingly, the brand is aimed at those who enjoy the active outdoors, carrying a range of hard and softshell jackets, down insulation and head and leg wear. “We were together in the Norwegian mountains during a fierce Arctic winter when inspiration took hold: the development of technical outdoor clothing that would protect against the raging brutality around us, whilst capturing the purity and elegance of the Scandinavian landscape.” Amongst its broad range, our hands down favourite is the Alfar Mid Layer jacket. With the ability to be worn as either a outer or mid layer, the Alfar is versatile and durable, constructed using breathable and water repellent materials combined with harness compatible pockets and a close-fitting insulated hood that can be worn under a helmet. What we love about the Alfar is that it while you’ll expect to see it worn by a mountain climber, it looks more than suited to a casual Sunday stroll. So when we got our hands on the jacket, we did just that – took the Alfar for a Sunday stroll. Pairing the jacket with a cashmere turtle neck, black stone wash jeans and black hi-top trainers, Available in a range of colours – the Alfar is perfect for the unpredictable Spring weather, light yet protective and suitable for anything from scaling heights to lazy strolls.
