A.P.C Autumn 2013 Collection – Our Picks Quintessential Gent 30 August, 2013 There is no denying it, with the weather getting colder and the nights getting shorter it’s getting towards that annoying time of the year again what we here at SG have snappily dubbed ‘the in-between summer and autumn phase,’ where the decision to take a jacket or not in the morning can suddenly leave you either sweating heaps or perilously exposed to the elements. Luckily, A.P.C have recently released a new collection to help you brave the transition with style and ease. With a mixture of solid timeless shirts, knits and footwear, with some more bold and adventurous outerwear, there is something here for every gents taste. These are our picks from the collection. The collection has a strong range range of quality outerwear but this forest green parka particularly stood out as it has everything you want from a coat. A classic narrow cut complimented with a number of practical pockets, warm water-repellent materials, and a versatile lining in the body and arms that can both be removed for a more streamlined look. This timeless piece also benefits from a cut which allows room for knits, ideal for adding layers in the colder months. Made from 100% Italian wool this handy and stylish jacket is perfect for almost any occasion. Compliment the sleek cut with some narrow trousers and derbies, or go casual with jeans – either way we think this has ‘dependable go-to jacket’ written all over it. The genuine horn buttons are a also great little detail that caught our eye. A man’s wardrobe is just not complete without a navy blazer. There are a number of great knits in the collection as you would expect but this cable and moss stitched sweater is our pick of the bunch featuring just enough detail to add interest to an outfit without becoming a distraction. Worn with a crisp blue oxford this sweater is perfect for those chilly morning commutes or for weekend drinks down The Cat and Custard Pot. Much like the parka above we love the autumnal green of these classic straight cut trousers which would work perfectly with a neutral-toned sweater or a sharp white shirt. There is a wool option available as well for slightly more cash, but with hopes of an Indian summer still lingering strong within the Street Gentry team, we opted for the more light weight and comfortable cotton option.
